Ratae PGI Ltd is a privately owned company, established in 2013, with our head office in Leicester. We provide Personal Guarantee Insurance solutions to firms all over the UK.
In 2014 we launched our innovative Personal Guarantee Insurance product, which we believe to be one of the most revolutionary products on the market.
We used the knowledge and expertise we gained to develop solutions that meet the changing needs of the SME. The overwhelming request from clients was for a product that helped protect against Personal Guarantees required by lending institutions. SME’s also looking for a ‘one stop shop’, a product from a trusted provider that met the requirements of not just their asset protection, but cover for all their general business needs.
This led to the development of Ratae PGI Ltd. An Insurance provider for the whole range of disciplines SME’s undertake or just for one particular need. Whichever products you require, the benefits are reassuringly the same – matters are handled more efficiently throughout, from sending quotes to claims handling, business assistance and consultation.
Our clients range from small limited companies to multi site firms, so whatever your shape or size you can be sure that we have the knowledge and experience to deliver the results you are looking for through our integrated online solution; be that reduced operational risk, or increased efficiency and improved profitability.
All of our products have been developed in-house by our specialist team of legal and financially qualified developers here in the UK and we were the first to introduce online “quote & buy” Personal Guarantee Insurance, with SMS and Email updates, seamless purchasing process, monthly checks and pay online transaction business model.

Steve Thatcher is a personal insolvency solicitor from Leicester. For Over 20 years he has been helping people obtain personal insolvency options such as Debt Settlement Agreements and bankruptcy through his firm Help With Debt UK.
Over the years he has seen many instances where people were forced to obtain bankruptcy due to their Personal Guarantees being called upon. Having seen the problems caused by people having to honour Personal Guarantees, he quickly realised the need for an insurance to protect people in the event that this occurs.
Steve is an accomplished solicitor with a strong background in insolvency – both corporate and personal. He qualified in 1993 with Edge and Ellison and since then has been a partner in three midlands practices, Ironsides, Nelsons and Spearing Waite.
Steve is now a consultant with Johl and Co in Leicester, specialising in cross jurisdictional bankruptcy.
He has also worked in industry as an owner of an Insurance Captive and as a manager for the country’s leading debt solution business.
He has formed and run his own debt solutions business for the last eight years. He was previously Director and Founder of DebtOptions, an Irish debt solutions business with a prominent Irish solicitor Anthony Joyce.
As a qualified and practicing solicitor he is well placed to be able to effectively offer legal services in conjunction with all the above businesses.
